Victim assistance is often necessary at the scene of an incident if the occupants of a structure have nowhere to go when they leave the building. Depending on weather conditions and the health of the victims, temporary shelter may be necessary. The DART vehicle has seating in the rear compartment and is heated or air conditioned depending on the season. A 10'x10' pop up tent is also available with side walls to provide shelter from wind and rain.
The DART vehicle also stores various items to offer. Clothing, temporary foot wear, personal hygiene packs, quilts, stuffed animals, thermal blankets, baby diapers, pet food and leashes, and other items are available. Additional assistance is also available depending on need.
